Tatiana Dzavik and Dahlia splendid in ShowparkGP
The superb Showpark grand prix field was jumping on this cloudless Southern California afternoon. With forty-one horse and rider combinations and eight clean, the only double clear earned the win in the $40,000 Showpark Summer Grand Prix, presented by Markel Insurance.
It wasn't until the seventeenth horse galloped on course, Francisco Pasquel aboard Deauville, that all the jumps remained in their cups. Soon after, a new face on the West Coast, Tatiana Dzavik on Ilan Ferder's Dahlia, went clean, assuring a jump-off. In the end the pair finished in a third place jumping one fence down in the Jump-Off.
Dahlia is a new mount for Dzavik, one that she co-owns with Ilan Ferder of Wellington, FL. The eight-year-old mare came from Tal Milstein, Ferder's partner in Belgium, and she is already showing that she has a great connection with Dzavik.
